This is a result of the flat pancake block inside the ball and the pearlized cover stock. On a very dry lane condition it will hook if it drilled with lots of positive side weight. New bowlers need this kind of control if they want to learn the game. The cost is a benefit, especially if your just starting out. No sense spending a lot of money only to stick the ball in the closet. The cover stock is very durable because it's pearlized.
